It's commonly said that, " beauty is in the eye of the beholder". This is very true, as what I find beauty in may not be beautiful to someone else. As I thought about this topic, I of course thought about my boys. When I see them sleeping, it's a beautiful moment for me because they look so angelic, innocent, and peaceful. I find myself taking pictures of them often while they are sleeping because I just can't resist how sweet they look. Sleep is very important because it reenergizes us both physically and mentally. Seeing Core and Graham sleep makes me miss the type of sleep that children experience. I think we have less soundful sleep when we get older because we have more life stressors and when children sleep they look so content and care free. I didn't appreciate the simple act of sleep much until I became a parent. Children often fight sleep, by not wanting to take their naps and not wanting to go to bed at their bedtime; and as an adult I've learned to value sleep and many days find myself wishing I had naptime again! Ironic? One of the things I've learned as I get older is to value a restful night sleep and to appreciate the little and sometimes simplest things in life.
Sweet dreams!
