Mommy's Project 52:20 Cooking

What a great topic to have this week, as we are in the midst of the holiday season. I thought I would share one of my favorite holiday recipes for fresh cranberry sauce.  I promise once you try this recipe, you will love it.  I made it for the first time, I think 5 years ago, after my friend Kat had made it and either my mom or I have been making it every Thanksgiving and Christmas since. It's quick, easy, and delicious.  I never used to eat cranberry sauce until I started making this recipe.

1 bag of fresh cranberries
1 cup of sugar
1/4 cup Amaretto

Mix cranberries and sugar in a baking dish and bake for 1 hour at 350; remove from the oven and add 1/4 cup Amaretto and stir.  Let cool and transfer to serving dish.

I usually make it the day before serving, because I prefer to serve it cold and I also add one small can of cold mandarin orange segments and about a 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts ( these are my own additions and not part of the original recipe, but it makes it yummy).
